My Opinion About BarelyTwinks:
At first, I thought that maybe Barely Twinks would be just another typical site with hot dudes going at it, but this gay site has a bit of a twist. Rather than feature random actors giving each other head and going at it, these movies on feature real-life couples. While many scenes just include two twinks, there are also more experimental couples getting down and dirty in adventurous group scenarios.
BarelyTwinks is actually part of a larger network of mainly twink sites. There are another 10 exclusive gay sites including FuckThatTwink, Bareback101, TwinkBoardingSchool, TwinkClinic and CrotchBuffet, amongst others. One thing that did stand out was that many of the guys on this site also make appearances on other network sites. While the tour promises over 50 sites, I was hard-pressed to find the remaining 40 bonuses. Nonetheless, you get links to live chat and to VODs.
There is a pop-up when you login and I found it a bit irritating, but fortunately there's only one. Inside the site there are up-sells, although aside from one or two they seem to be confined to the "friends" category in the page-top menu. Navigation could be better. It's not hard to find scenes, but a keyword or category or even model search might make browsing all the easier.
Photos and videos are divided into their own categories, although each of the movies come with their own set of video captures. The gallery photos are much better, although not particularly large. There are 22 sets with 800x600 images. These can be downloaded in a .zip or viewed in a slideshow. The photos could be larger, but at least they're crisp. Sets contain an average of 40 pictures. They're fairly standard hardcore images of twinks giving head, fucking and cumming. There's nothing spectacular about them other than they amplify the fact that these are really hot guys that a person could drool over.
Movies are where the real action is and many of the couples appear more than once. There are 50 videos. Since there aren't any content dates, I went to the network schedule, but sadly there hadn't been a new BarelyTwink video reported in over a month. All I can say about this is thank god for all the bonus twink content.
The good news is that the videos are excellent. Most of them last a good 25 minutes, and while there are full-length downloads, there are also clip downloads and streams as well. WMV (2030kbps 720x480) and MPEG (600kbps 652x240) may be the only format options, but they're offered in qualities that will suit any connection speed, even dial-up if such a connection speed is even available any more. Some scenes are a bit dark, but none of the movies wastes time with needless stories or interviews. These guys are supposedly real-life lovers and the films typically open with the guys kissing and lovingly playing with each other before they get into sex. There are a few group scenarios and there are some masturbation videos, which I found a bit strange for a site promoting couples. Also, some of the guys like KC Williams seems to switch lovers a lot, so I'm not exactly sure how "real life" these couples are in all honesty.
Final Verdict:
At first, I thought Barely Twinks was going to deliver something a bit different from the norm. The tour certainly promised a new spin on the twink genre, but the site ends up being like just about any other one. Fortunately, it's still ht and filled with sexy twinks doing what most guys their age do: fuck. Also, the price of admission is made even more attractive by the fact that you get another 10 exclusive sites when you join.
